That seems to be a question that is always on the minds of Chinese language students.
Standard Mandarin courses that have been designed for foreign students assume that there is only one way to teach Chinese - the traditional way. Although it may work in certain situations, we do not think it is the most effective method for students who are not living in a Chinese-speaking environment.
Our approach replicates the immersive and interactive experience of studying Chinese, as if you were living in China itself. The only difference is that you will be utilizing online technology and others tools that we have developed to enhance your Chinese learning experience.
How will I practice speaking Chinese?
We do not want you to waste your valuable time looking for someone to practice with. From day 1, you will be introduced to a language partner who will encourage you to practice spoken Chinese without fear of embarrassment.
You will be able to schedule regular practice sessions to improve your conversational Mandarin. You can also find out when to use certain words and expressions, and in what specific cultural situations they can be used. Why just stick to books? Let's be street-smart!
So what is this immersive and interactive approach you are talking about?
You will be able to access various interactive learning materials through your one-on-one lessons with your tutor. You will also have Q&A sessions with your teacher's assistant (TA), as well as assigned exercises that you can complete in your free time.. You can make use of our Voice Recongnition tools to improve and get immediate feedback on your pinyin (phonetic) pronunciation. You can also enjoy conversation practice with your language partner and use the other Mandarin learning tools that we provide.
This comprehensive approach is designed to bring together all the different learning methods and tools in an enhanced package that will help speed our students through the steep learning curve. One plus one does not always equal two!
